At sea on route to the Panama Canal

January 16, 2007 At sea on route to the Panama Canal (Sent as an email)

Greetings to all! It's Tuesday evening and I have just returned from a nice swim and hot tub "excursion". This day at sea gave me a chance to explore the ship and try my hand at my first game of BINGO. Tomorrow is yet another day at sea as we skip along at 20something knots toward the Panama Canal. Speaking of which...they tell us that you can log on to
http://www.pancanal.com/ and watch the ms Amsterdam sail through the locks on Thursday in real time. Check it out!

My accomodations are very nice. Queen bed, nice leather sofa, tub/shower, lots of closets and flat screen TV...what more can I want??? I even have a large window...not a porthole!

The number of people who are on their umpteenth world cruise amazes me. Everyone seems to know everyone else having traveled over and over again on these "grand voyages"....unbelievable! Most passengers too, seem to be here for the entire trip. My frist day off the ship will be on Saturday when we dock in Manta, Ecuador where I will immediately board an airplane and spend "A Day In Quito".

I truly look forward to sharing my grand adventure with all my great friends....thanks for all your interest and support....now let me go and see if I can make this email work. My best to all, Charles
